Latent View to make market debut today

Latent View Analytics, whose Rs 600-crore initial public offer (IPO) attracted a record 338 times bids, will make market debut on Monday. The IPO, which was sold from November 10 to November 12, had received subscription for 572.18 crore shares worth Rs 1.12 lakh crore. This was more than five times the demand for India’s largest-ever IPO from Paytm.

SGX Nifty signals a positive start

Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 31.50 points, or 0.18 per cent, higher at 17,735.50, signaling that Dalal Street was headed for a positive start on Monday.

Tech View: Nifty50 has support at 50-EMA

Nifty50 on Thursday formed a bearish candle on the daily scale. Analysts believe a drop below the 50-day exponential moving average (EMA), which the index sustained on Thursday, could open up doors for more weakness ahead.

Hong Kong shares barely moved at open

Hong Kong stocks opened flat on Monday morning following last week’s losses, with Wall Street providing a tepid lead, and traders also keeping tabs on central banks’ monetary policy plans in light of surging inflation. The Hang Seng Index inched up 7.09 points to 25,057.06. The Shanghai Composite Index ticked up 0.07 percent, or 2.39 points to 3,562.76, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange edged 0.16 percent, or 4.04 points, higher to 2,494.31.

Japan shares open lower following Dow’s loss

Tokyo stocks opened lower Monday as investors turned wary after the Dow ended down last week. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.45 percent, or 132.74 points, to 29,613.13 in early trade, while the broader Topix index slipped 0.65 percent, or 13.20 points, at 2,031.33.

US stocks settled lower on Friday

Wall Street closed out a week of choppy trading with stocks mostly lower on Friday, though gains for several tech companies pushed the Nasdaq composite to another record high and its first close over 16,000 points. Dow Jones shed 0.75 per cent to 35,601.98. S&P 500 fell 0.14 per cent to 4,697.96. Nasdaq added 0.52 per cent at 16,057.44.

FPIs sell shares worth Rs 3,931 crore

Net-net, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) turned sellers of domestic stocks to the tune of Rs 3,931 crore, data available with NSE suggested. DIIs were net buyers to the tune of Rs 1,885.66 crore, data suggests.

Rupee rises 4 paise against dollar

The rupee erased most of its initial gains on Thursday to settle the week 4 paise higher at 74.24 against the dollar. Some pullback in crude oil prices and a weak greenback in the overseas market supported the local unit.

Market to resume trade after long weekend

India’s currency, debt and equity markets were closed on Friday for a holiday. Markets will resume trading today. The NSE Nifty 50 index closed 0.75 per cent lower at 17,764.80 on Thursday, while the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex was down 0.62 per cent at 59,636.01.
