IBM, Travelers share gains contribute to Dow's nearly 125-point jump

Buoyed by strong returns for shares of IBM and Travelers, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is trading up Monday afternoon. The Dow DJIA, -0.04% was most recently trading 121 points (0.4%) higher, as shares of IBM IBM, +1.51% and Travelers TRV, +1.34% are contributing to the index’s intraday rally. IBM’s shares have gained $2.63 (1.9%) while those of Travelers are up $2.97 (1.7%), combining for a roughly 37-point bump for the Dow. Goldman Sachs GS, +0.69%, UnitedHealth UNH, +0.57%, undefined American Express AXP, +0.07% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark equates to a 6.59-point swing.
