Alan Hutton has claimed Rangers will need to make new signings if Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent refuse to sign new deals.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Gers defender said that Giovanni van Bronckhorst will “have one eye” on the contract situations at the club before re-entering the transfer market.

According to Football Scotland (29 July), Kent, 25, is in talks over a new agreement at Ibrox.

Morelos, 26, is also said to be having “positive talks” with Rangers chiefs over a new contract.

Van Bronckhorst admitted the pair “love” the Gers and are both said to be “open” to signing new deals.

He added that Champion League football will be a draw for the duo to remain at the club.

Both players are entering the final 12 months of their contracts with the Glasgow club.

When asked if Rangers would be making any more signings this summer, Hutton told Football Insider:I think they’ll always look, they’ll always have options there.

I’ve heard rumours recently that Alfredo Morelos is closer to signing a new deal than leaving. Hopefully Ryan Kent is in the same situation so they’ll probably have one eye on that and another in case somebody leaves.

If something pops up that obviously would be a target then I’m sure they’ll be open to it but I think it’s a case of it they do get people out they’ll need to replace them within the squad.

In other news, Hutton has claimed Rangers could seal deal for Alfredo Morelos replacement after report from Italy.
