That’s still far short of the $741,000 that Clarendon Hills Democrat Jennifer Zordani raised from her party in 2020.

According to her financial reports, Mazzochi has raised about $20,000 in the last couple of weeks. Her contributions have come from groups such as the Associated Contractors of Illinois, Credit Union Political Action Council, Illinois Hospital Association, J&J Ventures Gaming and Merck pharmaceutical company.

Mazzochi has received about $25,000 from her party.

In recent years, the Elmhurst-based House district, which includes part of Hinsdale, has been seen as a battleground.

But Mazzochi took 54 percent of the vote in 2020 against Zordani. And that was considered a good year for Democrats nationwide, especially in suburbs.

With President Joe Biden’s approval ratings sagging, Mazzochi is likely running in a better environment this time around.
