U.S. stocks were mostly higher in midday trading on Tuesday. The Dow Jones Industrial was giving back some of its early losses, while Big tech stocks were buoying the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite.
The Dow was down 0.2%, to trade at 43,311 as of 12:40 p.m. Eastern time, after hitting a session low of 42,938 in the morning session, according to FactSet data.
The S&P 500 was up 0.2%, at around 5,907, helped by the nearly 30% advance in Super Micro Computer Inc. and the 3.8% increase of Walmart Inc.
The Nasdaq was surging 0.6%, at 18,902.
