Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.09% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:14AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

IndusInd Bank(up 1.16 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 1.04 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.45 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.39 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.37 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Federal Bank(down 0.6 per cent), Axis Bank(down 0.58 per cent), ICICI Bank(down 0.22 per cent), IDFCBANK(down 0.17 per cent) and Bandhan Bank(down 0.11 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.09 per cent at 41410.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 19.4 points at 17745.2, while the BSE Sensex was down 109.54 points at 60397.36.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of , Adani Power, Tata Steel, YES Bank and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of

, , RBM Infracon Ltd., and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Ltd., , ., Rushil Decor and Ballarpur Inds. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
