The White House confirmed President Donald Trump intends to sign the disclosure bill that passed in Congress on Tuesday. Both the House and Senate agreed to support a measure that would require the Department of Justice to release its files on the deceased, convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
“The bill will be signed whenever it gets to the White House,” a senior White House official told Barron’s.
Trump had said earlier that he would sign the bill, but the Senate had yet to take up the measure.
The timing of the bill’s release to the White House wasn’t immediately clear. The House passed the bill nearly unanimously on Tuesday afternoon. The Senate agreed in a procedural measure Tuesday evening that it would consider the bill passed as soon it was received from the House.
