Does Nvidia have a stock problem?
00:04 Speaker A
Just to like put a fine point on this, I’m going to play Jared Blic- Blikre, our markets data editor for a second here. So here’s Nvidia over the past year. And here is where I draw, you know, sort of wiggly lines that are supposed to be straight lines and show the range that it has been in since last August. The top here was, um, uh late October and since then it’s down 11 and a half percent.
00:26 Speaker C
That’s the crypto peak, basically.
00:27 Speaker A
So, it depends on what It depends on what your definition of problem is, right?
00:31 Speaker C
Right.
00:32 Speaker A
Like it depends on
00:32 Speaker C
‘Cause I could look at up 50 in a year and I’m like, ‘Ah, it’s pretty solid.’
00:35 Speaker A
I mean, I would argue in Jensen Wong’s mind, this ain’t a problem, right? It’s not a problem for him personally. He’s, you know, he’s doing fine. It’s not a problem for anyone who got in before here. Um, you know, it’s not really a problem in terms of all of the spending that they’re doing because they’re not really using their stock as a lever to back up, you know, their spending. So, I don’t know, it depends on who for.
00:38 Speaker C
Yeah.
00:56 Speaker C
So
00:56 Speaker B
If you want to buy it right now, I mean, and you’re expecting it to go up tomorrow, maybe it’s it’s a problem.
01:00 Speaker A
Yeah.
01:00 Speaker C
Yeah.
01:01 Speaker B
Yeah. I mean, I guess, uh, the thing that I was wrestling with is like comparing GTC to WWDC from 15 years ago, back when that was like had all the same characteristics of it’s a tech product conference. It becomes interesting for investors because Apple at the time, it’s like how many more iPhones are they going to sell? All the parameters of the iPhone were leaked before the presentation itself, and then Steve Jobs got up there and did the whole thing. And I just sort of wonder if it’s this moment where you have the technologists and the stock guys just talking past each other. And, you know, and I think it brings us back to the story about do they have a stock problem? I would say certainly not, but I think that is just a question on, you know, what your horizon is or or etc. How you define a problem.
01:29 Speaker C
Yeah.
01:37 Speaker C
Sure.
