Indus Towers
Indus Towers has reviewed strategic opportunities to expand the company’s footprint across select international markets. The company’s board has approved its foray into African markets, beginning with Nigeria, Uganda, and Zambia. TCS
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) partnered with Tryg, a leading Scandinavian non-life insurance company, to simplify and standardise operations across its three major markets and drive technological transformation. The deal between the two companies is worth 550 million euros and spans a period of seven years. As part of the deal, TCS will employ its suite of AI and Cloud services across Tryg’s entire IT infrastructure to augment delivery capability, automate core processes, and better the customer experience.
JSW Cement
JSW Cement reported a net loss of Rs 1,356.2 crore for the first quarter of FY25. In the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, the company reported a net loss of Rs 15 crore. The company’s revenue from operations increased 7.8% to Rs 1,559.8 crore as against Rs 1,447.2 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal.
Consumer Durbale stocks
The government has proposed slashing the GST rate on air conditioners, TVs above 32 inches, as well as dishwashers to 18% from 28% earlier, bringing them on a par with other white goods such as refrigerators and washing machines, sources said. The latter two categories are currently taxed at 18% in terms of GST. The proposal to provide a GST rate relief to ACs, TVs (above 32 inches) and dishwashers will come up at the crucial GST Council Meeting, which begins on Wednesday, reported The Financial Express, citing sources.
Coal stocks
The GST Council, which will meet here on Wednesday and Thursday, is likely to raise the goods and services tax (GST) on Coal, briquettes, ovoids and similar solid fuels made from coal from 5% to 18%, according to sources in the know. Sources said this is being done to cover the revenue shortfall, though the centre is keen on boosting coal production and adding 80 gigawatts of thermal capacity by 2032.
Zydus Lifesciences
Zydus Lifesciences has introduced India’s first trivalent influenza vaccine, VaxiFluTM, to provide protection against seasonal flu. Zydus said VaxiFluTM is recommended for individuals aged six months and above. The trivalent influenza vaccine contains updated strains based on the WHO’s annual surveillance to provide targeted protection during the current flu season.
Lemon Tree Hotels
Lemon Tree Hotels announced the signing of three new properties – Lemon Tree Premier, Pushkar, Lemon Tree Premier, Ajmer, and Keys Lite by Lemon Tree Hotels, Ajmer. The properties will be managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels Limited.
Waaree Energies
Waaree Energies’ board approved the acquisition of a 64% stake in transformer maker Kotson’s Pvt Ltd for Rs 192 crore, making it a subsidiary. Kotson’s, founded in 1978, designs and supplies transformer solutions and has a plant capacity of 4,000 MVA. The company will also acquire 100% of Impactgrid Renewables Pvt Ltd from its wholly owned unit Waaree Forever Energies Pvt Ltd. Impactgrid, a step-down subsidiary, was recently incorporated and is non-operational.
PNC Infratech
PNC Infratech announced that it has emerged as the lowest (L1) bidder for a project floated by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the development of Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Varanasi. The project, valued at Rs 297 crore (exclusive of GST), involves the extension of the runway along with re-carpeting, strengthening of the existing runway, and allied works. The financial bids for the project were opened on September 2, 2025. According to the company, the work is to be completed within 18 months.
Zomato
Eternal Ltd, which owns the Zomato and Blinkit brands, on Tuesday (September 2) raised its platform fee on food delivery orders to Rs 12 from Rs 10, marking a 20% hike. The change comes less than a year after the company last revised the charge. Zomato, led by CEO Deepinder Goyal, first introduced the fee at Rs 2 in August 2023 as part of efforts to improve margins and move towards profitability.
Adani Energy Solutions
Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd. (AEML), the distribution arm and a subsidiary of Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. (AESL) announced that it has repurchased $44.6 million of its $300-million 3.867% senior secured notes that were due to mature in 2031. The buyback, funded through internal cash flows, reduces the company’s outstanding debt to $255.3 million, according to a stock exchange filing.
Yes Bank
The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the proposed acquisition of share capital and voting rights in Yes Bank by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC). The combination relates to SMBC’s plan to increase its holding in the private sector lender, a move aligned with regulatory clearances. Earlier on August 23, Yes Bank announced that SMBC had secured approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to raise its shareholding up to 24.99%.
