Stocks are giving back their gains shortly after the market open.
The S&P 500 is now flat, while the Dow and Nasdaq are trading slightly lower.
So far this month, the S&P 500 has marked effectively zero gains, following a 0.13% rise in November. The Dow and Nasdaq have been slightly better positioned, with 0.17% and 0.23% gains this month through today.
The holiday season is setting out to be a tough one for the stock market.
