Technology stocks were a big drag on the S&P 500 to start the day on Monday.
The market benchmark was down 0.6% after hovering around breakeven for much of the morning, but more than half of the stocks in the index were actually trading higher.
The Nasdaq Composite was down 1.1%. The Dow, which was up nearly 300 points this morning, was down 74 points, or 0.2%.
