The European Union has accused Australian trade officials of basing a probe into whether Italian producers are dumping cheap tomatoes on questionable evidence, suggesting the investigation was similar to the conduct of Chinese authorities.
Australia is formally reviewing whether canned tomatoes exported from Italy and sold at Coles, Woolworths and Aldi as home brand products are dumped, as revealed by The Australian Financial Review last week.
