WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Donald Trump has officially nominated Kevin Warsh of Florida to be the next chairman of the Federal Reserve.

Warsh, a former top Federal Reserve official, was chosen to replace Jerome Powell. The nomination was announced in January and has now been forwarded to the Senate for consideration.

Powell’s term as Federal Reserve chair ends in May, and a Senate vote will be required for Warsh to take over the position.
