US stock futures are pointing lower this morning, with E mini S&P 500 contracts down about 0.3%, as investors react to a firmer interest rate backdrop and ongoing Middle East tensions. The US 10 year Treasury yield is around 4.28%, and the Federal Reserve is keeping its key rate at 3.5% to 3.75% while signalling only one rate cut this year. This essentially means borrowing costs for mortgages, credit cards and business loans may stay relatively high for longer. At the same time, central banks in Europe and the UK are also holding rates while watching energy driven inflation risks. This is keeping pressure on rate sensitive areas such as real estate and smaller US companies and is putting large global banks and energy producers firmly in the spotlight as investors weigh whether stubborn inflation will matter more for markets than slower growth.

With rates staying higher for longer, focus your research on 73 resilient stocks with low risk scores before volatility picks up.
